Solutions Architect - Payroll experience
Sydney, CBD

6-12 month contract
$950-$1250  per day

 

Job purpose

The payroll Solution Architect will have overall responsibility for design and delivery of a functioning payroll solution for our client.   It’s a critical feature our our clients platform as it provides the final element of a fully automated end to end service offering. 

This role will define the architecture for the payroll feature.  You’ll plan the architectural runway to support upcoming payroll requirements.  Work to design the solution and provide technical expertise to the team. You will be involved in (and often facilitate) discussion and documentation of domain modelling, assessing ideas considering value proposition, possible solution options across the full stack and identify architecturally significant epics.

Acting as the point of accountability you’ll be able to bring context to the team and educate them in regard to the payroll element and assist the broader group to help them understand this type of technology requirement.   

Accountabilities

  • Building the pay roll feature for our clients platform
  • Help decide on, document and implement solution design for the payroll elements, understanding strengths and weaknesses of different patterns and platforms
  • Crafting the pay rules engine to deal with complex solutions
  • Analysing our technical environment to ensure it meets critical components required for this type of project
  • Analysing and audit of requirements
  • Setting out a collaboration framework
  • Development control including time/cost/quality factors
  • Creating a solution prototype
  • Monitor health of architecture, looking for opportunities to improve

 

Qualifications and Experience

Technical

  • Strong functional knowledge of payroll solutions in Australia/New Zealand gained from at least 4+ years of experience working within a payroll software environment
  • Minimum of a Full Life-cycle implementations of payroll from planning to configuration through go-live
  • Expertise in designing and implementing complex highly available applications
  • Understanding of working with cross cultural engineering teams remotely
  • Experience building architecture principles, patterns, roadmaps and blueprints
  • API versioning, API gateways, API documentation
  • Detailed knowledge of different data stores, understanding scalability drawbacks
  • Implementation of asynchronous processing with different queues understanding benefits and drawbacks
